These five actors are being eyed-up to play Elvis Presley in the upcoming Tom Hanks movie

We all know whoever plays the legendary Elvis Presley in the upcoming biopic has pretty big shoes to fill.

Which is why director Baz Luhrmann is currently deciding between five actors for the role of the "King of Rock and Roll."

But sadly, for Adam Lambert, who revealed he had his eye on the prominent role, he is not in contention.

So who are five men that could potentially play Elvis?

Harry Styles.

First up is former One Direction star Harry Styles.

Although he's one of the least-experienced actors of the bunch, he has the voice recognition that the rest can't boast.

Ansel Elgort.

Also in the running is Ansel Elgort, who was nominated for a Golden Globe for his role in Baby Driver.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson, also a Golden Globe nominee – for his role in Nocturnal Animals – has been screen tested for the role.

The fourth actor being considered is Miles Teller, who starred in Oscar-nominated film Whiplash and is set to appear in the upcoming sequel of Top Gun.

The other singer being considered for the role is Austin Butler, whose debut on Broadway in The Iceman Cometh garnered him massive praise in 2018.

The lead actor will be chosen in the coming weeks, according to Hollywood Reporter.

Tom Hanks is set to play Elvis's longtime manager Colonel Tom Parker in the biopic, which is scheduled to be filmed in Australia in the coming months.
