There have been rumours flying all over the place about when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are going to have kids, and even a couple stating that she is pregnant already!

But according to a royal expert, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge aren't actually going to have custody over their future children when they come.

Royal expert Marlene Koeing has spoken about the strange situation, "The sovereign has legal custody of the minor grandchildren." this rule has stood since the 1700s, when King George wanted full control over his grandchildren.

"This goes back to King George I, and the law's never been changed. He did it because he had a very poor relationship with his son, the future King George II, so they had this law passed that meant the King was the guardian of his grandchildren."

Constitutional expert Michael L. Nash also spoke about the bizarre rule back in 1993, "Queen has the last word in the custody upbringing, education and even the right of abode of the princes, even during the lifetime of their father, Prince Charles. As for their mother, the Princess of Wales, her say is a matter of discretion and negotiation."

Despite the fact that the law is still in place to this day, the likelihood of the Queen stepping in a looking after her grandchildren full time is very small.
