The Oh-So-Cute Adventures Of Jonny And Nibbles!

They say a dog is a man's best friend but for one Californian boy that honour has been given to a duck named Nibbles, who starts quacking excitedly every time his pal comes home from school.

Nibbles, an 11-month-old Rouen duck, has known Jonny since the day he hatched, imprinting on the 10-year-old boy who was holding his egg.

They've been inseparable ever since, swimming in Jonny's plastic pool together or riding on his dirt bike, playing tag or just hanging out and watching television.

Nibbles has even been known to protect Jonny's homework.

Their bond has been filmed by Jamie Toschi, Jonny's mother, who adds new videos of the two best friends on YouTube and has a Facebook page called The Adventures of Jonny and Nibbles.

Jonny had previously been best friends with Nibbles' mother Daisy, Toschi's mother explained on her YouTube page.

But Daisy passed away one month after she had seven ducklings with Nibbles' father Daffy, who is three years old and still lives with the family.

Toschi said she incubated Daisy's eggs and that Nibbles was the very last of the ducklings to hatch.

'Jonny was devastated when Daisy died,' Toschi wrote. 'He held on to Nibbles and never let go.'

And thanks to a specially-created duck diaper harness Toschi bought on Etsy, Nibbles is free to move around the house as he pleases.

Toschi said the diaper is made out of a black swimsuit-like material and has a waterproof liner that keeps Nibbles dry, while a piece of baby diaper or sanitary napkin absorbs his poop until it gets changed.

Nibbles often kisses Jonny before he leaves for school and quacks excitedly when he walks to the car after getting off the bus at the end of the day.

Toschi wrote on her Facebook page that Jonny has special needs and she believes 'Nibbles can sense that and makes their bond even stronger'.
