3/11 Mary Richards (Mary Tyler Moore): In 1980, Moore broke away from her innocent persona when she did "Ordinary People," which got her an Academy Award nomination. She also starred in a few more sitcoms and hit the Broadway stage. Moore is also a published author and spends her time doing charity work. In 2011, Moore underwent elective brain surgery to remove a benign meningioma. In 2014 it was reported she has heart and kidney problems and is nearly blind.

4/11 Lou Grant (Edward Asner): After the show ended Ed's character got a spin-off, "Lou Grant" which aired from 1977-1982. He went on to voice several animated characters, and in 2009 the 82-year-old voiced the lead character in the Academy Award winning animated flick, “UP." In 2010, Asner starred in the one-man play "FDR," about President Roosevelt.

5/11 Murray Slaughter (Gavin MacLeod): After "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" MacLeod landed his lead role as Captain Merrill Stubing on "The Love Boat", however his personal life became more interesting than his career in the '80s when he and his ex-wife became Evangelical Christians and remarried after a bitter divorce years earlier. He has also been a representative for Princess Cruises for 23 years and is an MC for them.

6/11 Ted Baxter (Ted Knight): After The Mary Tyler Moore Show's run, Knight guest-starred in "Mr. Dennis Steps Out" and "The Love Boat". Knight landed the lead role as Henry Rush in the series "Too Close for Comfort" in 1980. In 1986 he died from complications due to surgery for his cancer. He was 62.

7/11 Rhoda Morgenstern (Valerie Harper): In 1986 Valerie starred as the Hogan family matriarch in the sitcom "Valerie". After reported contract disputes, she parted ways from the show in it's second season and the show went on without her. From 2005-2006 she portrayed Golda Meir in the one-woman drama, "Golda's Balcony". In 2012, Harper announced she has terminal brain cancer.

8/11 Phyllis Lindstrom (Cloris Leachman): Cloris also got her own spin-off, appropriately titled "Phyllis," which lasted for two seasons. She has starred in a slew of films over the years. In 2008, she became the oldest contestant to participate in ABC's "Dancing With the Stars."

9/11 Georgette Franklin (Georgia Engel): After "The Mary Tyler Moore Show," Georgia followed co-star Betty White onto "The Betty White Show" for it's first and only season. Most recently, the veteran comedy star has received critical acclaim for her role as Robert Barone's mother-in-law on "Everybody Loves Raymond."

10/11 Sue Ann Nivens (Betty White): Betty White better known for her role as Rose Nylud in "The Golden Girls" which ran from 1985-1992. In recent years, she has had recurring roles on "The Bold and the Beautiful", "Hot in Cleveland" and "Boston Legal". In 2009 she co-starred with Sandra Bullock in "The Proposal". The actress seems to be loving her resurrected star status and doesn't appear to be slowing down any time soon.
