The 9.5 hectare officially opened on July 1, cost almost 890 million dollars and was built to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Hello Kitty. The park has partially been open since November 2014 and has received a barrage of negative reviews from visitors. One guest called the park 'a despicable project' while others branded it 'cheesy' and 'boring'.Â
