There's a new Karate Kid movie in the works and auditions are open globally!

Following the success of the Netflix series Cobra Kai, a new Karate Kid movie has been announced with Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio returning to the Karate Kid universe... and you could be the next Karate Kid!

Sony has just dropped a YouTube video announcing a global casting search for the next would-be Karate Kid.

Directed by Jonathan Entwistle, and set to release in December next year, the new movie will be both a sequel to the original '80s theatrical series and the blockbuster 2010 remake.

The inclusion of the two stars suggests that the two separate stands of the universe will be joined, allowing for the Karate Kid franchise to continue on. 

Ralph Macchio will be reprising his role as ‘Daniel LaRusso’, whom he played in the original film trilogy and brought back on Netflix’s Cobra Kai series. Jackie Chan will return to his role of ‘Mr. Han’, the kung fu master based on ‘Mr. Miyagi’, which he played in the 2010 remake.
