Hilary Barry, the woman who singlehandedly kept New Zealanders from slumping on the sofa in their pyjamas in lockdown, is entertaining fans once again after bringing back lockdown "Formal Friday".

Announcing the news on Twitter, she wrote: "Just like Covid #formalfriday is making a comeback!!

"Even if you're not in the lockdown zone you can show your solidarity by slapping on your Sunday best and sharing a pic tomorrow. I'm resurrecting the live baking on Facebook too, 10am be there or be square."

The much-loved TV presenter then donned a black cape gown and her iconic tiara.

Alongside the picture, the 50-year-old cheekily wrote: "After being plunged into Level 3 lockdown there was only one option really.

"Dust off the tiara and get my #formalfriday on."

Today's outfit comes after Hilary previously dressed in an elegant black sequined dress with a low plunging mesh neckline and a tiara and a bright red ball dress - which featured a big bow on one shoulder.

Last year Barry won The New Zealand Television Award for Best News and Current Affairs Presenter for her coverage of the Christchurch mosque attacks.

Keep up the amazing outfits, Hilary!
