Keith Urban reveals the heartbreaking reason he and Nicole Kidman are spending Christmas in Australia

Nicole Kidman and her husband Keith Urban jetted into Sydney over the weekend with their daughters Sunday, 14, and Faith, 12, to celebrate Christmas down under.

And now the country singer has revealed the heartbreaking reason why ...

The 55-year-old actress has returned home to her native country for this year's festivities as it could be one of the last ones spent with her beloved 82-year-old mother, Janelle, who has been unwell since January.

Speaking to The Daily Telegraph, Urban revealed spending this Christmas with his entire family was of utmost importance.

"My mum just turned 80 and Nic's mum … who knows how many Christmases we get with anybody ever, but particularly with our mums, I really cherish that chance to spend Chrissy with them and our family in Aus," he said.

According to reports, the family will spend Christmas Day at Balmoral Beach in Sydney's North Shore, joined by Kidman's mum and sister Antonia, her six children as well as Urban's mother Marienne.

Both Kidman and Urban lost their respective fathers Antony and Bob in recent years.
