Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made their first big trip abroad since stepping back from royal duties two years ago to attend the Invictus Games in the Hague last week.

On the way there, the royal couple paid a surprise visit to Windsor to visit Queen Elizabeth.

And now the 37-year-old prince has opened up about his reunion with his grandmother, saying it was "great" to see her.

Speaking on the Today show, the Duke of Sussex said: "Being with her, it was great. It was just so nice to see her.

"She's on great form. She's always got a great sense of humour with me. I'm just making sure that she's, you know, protected and got the right people around her."

Harry added: "It was really nice to catch up with her."

The couple reportedly travelled from Los Angeles without their children, 10-month-old Lilibet and Archie, who turns three next month.

This was the couple's first joint visit to the UK since announcing they were beginning a new life together in California in 2020.
