He may be the BAFTA Awards president, but that didn't mean Prince William's family was exempt from being the butt of a few jokes during yesterday's ceremony.

Seated in the front row, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were caught looking less than impressed when Australian comedian Rebel Wilson took to the stage to present the Best Director Award.

Opening her spiel with a Prince Andrew gag, Wilson said: "It is really great to be here at the Royal Andrew – Royal Harry, no, sorry – Royal Phil – ah, at this royal palace place".

As the camera flashed to the royal couple, Prince William could be seen looking very uncomfortable in his seat with the reference to his controversial uncle, who has received global backlash for his links to convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

And that wasn't the last of it for the royal duo.

Brad Pitt - who couldn't attend this year's Awards - made sure his presence was felt when he also took aim at the British royal family.

Enlisting his Once Upon A Time in Hollywood co-star Margot Robbie to collect the Best Supporting Actor Award on his behalf, the Australian actress held up Brad's award and read from her notes that he would be naming his BAFTA "Harry" because he is "really excited about bringing it back to the States with him."

The statement appeared to be in reference to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's controversial decision to quit as senior members of the royal family and spend more time across the Atlantic.

As the camera panned back to William and Kate, the guests of honour seemed to take Brad's joke in better spirits, smiling at each other.
