For those of us who are old enough to remember a time before Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle dominated headlines, the most popular women of the royal family in the '80s were Princess Diana and Sarah Ferguson, the wives of Prince Charles and his younger brother, Prince Andrew.

After a stunning wedding at Westminster Abbey in 1986 in front of 2,000 guests and 500 million television viewers, the couple sadly separated six years later before officially divorcing in 1996.

But now, fast forward two decades, royal watchers are convinced Fergie and Andrew are back together and planning to remarry.

Speculation has been growing over the past few months, as the couple - who share two daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie – have been attending multiple events together.

And now Fergie, herself, has just dropped a massive hint she and Prince Andrew are back together.

Gush about her "handsome prince" during a gathering at American businessman Ernie Boch Jr’s house, the 59-year-old was filmed talking about her relationship with her ex-husband.

She said: "I do live in the royal lodge with my handsome prince, who is the best looking prince of the whole darn lot."

Furthermore, when asked if she would ever consider a reunion with Andrew the Duchess said: "I always think, 'Have we really?' We’re divorced to each other right now. We've never really left each other."

When she was then asked if Sarah was "still together" with Andrew, she simply replied “yes”.

But what really set tongues wagging was on the anniversary of their wedding day last week, their youngest daughter, Eugenie took to Instagram to mark the momentous occasion.

Alongside a photo of the couple on their wedding day, she wrote: "Who else has ever forgotten to congratulate their parents on their wedding anniversary!"

"I'm a day late but I wanted to celebrate my parents getting married 33 years ago... Thank you for always being the best of friends and bringing us up together."

Despite their split in the '90s, the pair had a peaceful divorce and still live together at the Royal Lodge in Windsor.

"Andrew and I, we're the happiest divorced couple in the world, extraordinary, really, isn’t it?" Fergie previously said.

If the two have rekindled their romantic relationship, we wish them nothing but the best!
