We can all agree that a large focus of the Christmas season is the music. But what we can't agree on, is what's the best Christmas song!

In an exclusive poll conducted by PRS For Music, the one song that gets the British in the festive feeling is somewhat surprising. Here's a clue, it's not Wham!

The Pogues featuring Kirsty MacColl’s Fairytale of New York took out the top spot, with George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley's classic taking second.

The anthem about bickering lovers and lost dreams blasts out of speakers all over the country at Christmas time, after PRS for Music analysed data from radio stations in the UK.

A surprising omission from the top 5, was Mariah Carey's Last Christmas, which came in sixth place, despite being the most streamed song on Spotify.
