Following a two year hiatus due to the pandemic, Sir Elton John has been plagued with several health issues since returning to his Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour.

John first postponed his tour after a nasty fall, which led to him undergoing surgery for his hip in January.

The 'Tiny Dancer' singer then tested positive for Covid-19.

And now the 75-year-old music legend has been pictured in a wheelchair at Germany's Leipzig Airport ahead of his planned performance for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee concert.

The Rocket Man was dressed in one of his trademark Gucci tracksuits and wore a face mask as he was wheeled into the airport to fly home to Nice.

He was seen getting out of the car before being pushed by a staff member and surrounded by security.

This is not the first time the star has been seen in a wheelchair - in 2019, Elton started using one after he sprained his ankle.

At the time, the singer spoke out about his ailment when he was visiting the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, Italy.

"Not even a sprained ankle could keep me away from seeing one of the most beautiful museums in the world," Elton said.

The Platinum Jubilee concert will take place on Saturday 4 June outside Buckingham Palace.
