They're notorious for being extremely serious, but it appears even the Buckingham Palace guards couldn't contain their excitement when it came to Team Great Britain's Olympic success.
Performing the Changing of the Guard ceremony for the first time since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, the Band of the Coldstream Guards treated onlookers to a rendition of the iconic Spandau Ballet song, 'Gold'.
As the guards usually stick to ceremonial music, tourists who had gathered to watch the changing of the guard were pretty stunned.
Garrison Sergeant Major Andrew Stokes, of the Coldstream Guards, who was in charge of the ceremony's return, said: "It's been a long time coming.
"Bearing in mind it's been 18 months since we last did a ceremonial Changing the Guard (at Buckingham Palace), there's been an awful lot of hard work and preparation getting people up to standard."
For the past 18 months, the guardsmen have been busy manning COVID-19 testing sites and vaccination centres across the country, as well as operational training.
Team GB's trailblazing performance in Tokyo has been hailed as the greatest achievement in British Olympic history after the young team matched the tally of medals from London 2012 on the final day.
The British team ended fourth in the medal table with 65 overall – 22 of them gold.
